Mike Rosso

Mike Rosso, a native of East Lake, Florida, developed his passion for soccer early, playing two years at East Lake High School before continuing at Saint Leo University for three seasons. His playing career extended into the Premier Development League (PDL) with AJAX Orlando in 2004. He later competed with the Florida Kickers, achieving significant milestones, including a USASA National Semifinal appearance in 2007 and winning the USASA Amateur National Championship in 2008.

My Story

Mike Rosso, a native of East Lake, Florida, developed his passion for soccer early, playing two years at East Lake High School before continuing at Saint Leo University for three seasons. His playing career extended into the Premier Development League (PDL) with AJAX Orlando in 2004. He later competed with the Florida Kickers, achieving significant milestones, including a USASA National Semifinal appearance in 2007 and winning the USASA Amateur National Championship in 2008. Currently, Mike is a club coach for Westy FC in Westminster, CO, while also coaching both the boys' and girls' programs at Northfield High School.

His collegiate coaching journey began in 2011 as an Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach at Eckerd College, where he helped lead the team to two Sunshine State Conference Tournament appearances in three seasons. During this time, he also worked as a head competitive coach for Tampa Bay United (2008–2016) and served as a volunteer assistant with the Tampa Bay Hellenic of the Women’s Professional Soccer League (2008–2015). From 2017 to 2018, Mike was an Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach at Francis Marion University, while also serving as the Boys Team Head Coach for South Carolina ODP. Under his leadership, the team competed in the 2017 Southern Regional Event, with five players earning selections to the Region III Pool. Additionally, he was the Head Varsity Boys Soccer Coach at Trinity Byrnes Collegiate School, guiding the team to two State Quarterfinals appearances. Before his work at Tampa Bay United, Mike was a competitive youth coach for Countryside Lightning, where he led the U17 girls’ team to a runner-up finish at the 2007 USYSA Southern Regionals. He also assisted with the IMG Soccer Academy U18 girls’ program, helping the team achieve a No. 1 national ranking and capture the Region III Premier League title. Additionally, he worked with the Countryside High School boys’ program, where the team held the No. 1 national ranking for eight weeks. Mike holds multiple coaching credentials, including the NSCAA Advanced National Soccer Diploma, a Regional Goalkeeping Diploma, and a USSF National D License. With extensive experience in player development, tactical coaching, and program leadership, he remains a dedicated and influential figure in the soccer community.
