Josh Blodgett

Coach Josh Blodgett has dedicated over 40 years to the beautiful game as both a player and coach, demonstrating an unwavering passion for player development and the growth of soccer. He holds a USSF National C License and United Soccer Coaches Goalkeeper Level 1 & 2 certifications.

My Story

Coach Josh Blodgett has dedicated over 40 years to the beautiful game as both a player and coach, demonstrating an unwavering passion for player development and the growth of soccer. He holds a USSF National C License and United Soccer Coaches Goalkeeper Level 1 & 2 certifications. Currently, Josh serves as the Director of Coaches for Desert Communities Soccer Club (DCSC). His coaching experience includes leading HD Elite Men’s UPSL Team and DCSC Pathfinders UPSL Men’s Team as head coach. He also coached at the high school level, heading the Apple Valley High School Boys’ Varsity Team (2017-2019) and the Apple Valley Girls’ Varsity Team. Additionally, he has coached competitive club teams, including a Boys' 2005 Silver Team, a Boys' 2003 Premier Elite Team, and currently, a Girls' 2006 (U-19) Gold Team at DCSC. Josh began his coaching career in 2001 as a U-14 age group trainer for Pride Soccer Club in Colorado Springs and has since coached at all levels of youth soccer. He is highly involved in 1-on-1 training sessions with youth and college players across Southern California, helping players elevate their game. As a youth, Josh played for multiple elite club teams before enlisting in the United States Army in 1994 at age 19. and after playing in the German 5th Division with DJK Schweinfurt for 3 years he was selected for the All-Army Men's Trial camp In 1999 where he earned a spot on the prestigious All-Army Men’s Soccer Team, composed of the best active-duty, Guard, and Reserve players. Josh is the all-time leading scorer in the history of the Men’s Armed Forces Soccer Tournament, where the top players from the Army, Air Force, Navy, and Marines compete. He was also selected five times for the U.S. Men’s Military Soccer Team, representing the United States in international tournaments across the USA, Brazil, Egypt, Suriname, and the 2015 World Military Games in Korea. After an illustrious playing career, Josh transitioned into coaching, serving as an assistant coach for the All-Army Men’s Program in 2015 and 2016. His tenure included leading the Army to gold in 2015 and a 4th-place finish in 2016 before his retirement.
